Safeguarding Children In Golf
Glamorgan Golf want to ensure that young people involved in golf can thrive and flourish in a safe environment.
We all need to play our part in protecting kids in golf, making sure their experiences of our sport are positive ones. Whether it’s at home, at school or down at the golf club, the safety and wellbeing of junior players should be a priority for everyone.
Child protection is not just something for the Junior section to worry about. Every sector in the golfing community, and every person involved in promoting, teaching and playing golf – instructors, officials, parents, even kids themselves – should understand this issue and take the safety of young players seriously.
Glamorgan Golf takes this responsibility seriously, we want to ensure :-
- The child’s welfare is paramount (a ‘child’ is defined as any young person under the age of 18);
- All children – regardless of age, gender, racial origin, religious belief, sexual identity and any disability – have a right to enjoy sport, free from any kind of abuse or poor practice;
- The Glamorgan Golf in conjnuction with Wales Golf has responsibilities for the welfare of children who take part in our sport.
