V Gloucestershire Wessex League 2019

Information on Wessex league v Gloucestershire

After losing the morning foursomes 3 – 1 the Wessex League team (surely there must be a better name) faced a bigger uphill struggle than the first fairway at Wenvoe Castle. However the Neath duo Luke Colwill and Ryan Nedza started the come-back with excellent wins. Lloyd Walters won out in the country and Junior Champion Jacob Harrington-Wara chipped in with a half. Tom Booth did likewise and it was left to “old hand” Rhys Clarke to produce a 2&1 win that gave us a half that the team performance warranted.
This league is meant to give younger players the experience of playing a level up from junior golf and benefit from experienced players who are on the edge of the County team. The team’s performances (and the enthusiasm of the team managers) have more than justified the initiative.
Thanks to the Wenvoe club for allowing use of their excellent facility as always the course and clubhouse facilities couldn’tbe faulted.
